The Eiffel Tower

Considered one of the world’s most beautiful monuments, the Eiffel Tower stands tall, giving Paris its unmistakable skyline. Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most well known monuments in the world, making it one of Paris’s most famous landmarks. It stands in the center of the Place de l’Etoile, or Star Square. Located at the west end of the Champs Elysees, and is a majestic arch that you cannot miss. The arch was constructed in 1806 to celebrate the victory of Napoleon I at Austerlitz. The arch has become a symbol of Paris since that time.

The arch comprises of a sequence of historical depictions, a follows a grand thoroughfare on a route from the courtyard of the Louvre palace to the outskirts of Paris. The monument, stunningly beautiful, stands over 51 meters in height and 45 meters in width, its design being inspired from that of the Arch of Titus, Rome. The colossal structure is one of Paris’s biggest tourist draws. The 4 groups of sculptures located at the base of the Arch comprise of the Resistance and Peace, Triumph of 1810, and the most renowned, Departure of the Volunteers.
